Arena Footings
Why Use Equi-Turf™ Arena Footings?
Equi-Turf™ Arena Footings reduces compaction of the riding surface and protects your valuable investment. Our footings are 2 - 7 mm rubber granules, recycled from clean, unused rubber from the automotive industry. This is our guarantee it is 100% free of wire, metal, or other foreign materials/ objects. Our shock absorbing footings reduces the possibility of joint stress and injury. Also, studies have shown that Equi-Turf™ arena footings have possibly helped return energy to the horse.
Freezing point for rubber is very low enabling surface materials to remain loose and not completely freeze; therefore, lengthening the riding season in most outdoor applications. Our pure rubber granules will not decompose and breakdown as some natural footings (i.e. sand) which ultimately causes dust. Because of this, you will not have to replenish the materials on your arena surface.
Equi-Turf Arena Footing Preparation, Application and Installation
Surface Preparation: It is imperative the existing surface is solid, well-compacted and has the proper drainage. It is highly recommended your existing base be level.
Coverage: Equi-Turf™ Arena Footing works best when applied at a depth of 1 to 1 1/2 inches to a dustless sand base, for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Length x Width of Arena = Sq. Ft.
* 1" of Equi-Turf™ Arena Footings - multiply Sq. Ft. by 2.25 lbs (5 bags to a 10' by 10' area).
* 1 1/2" of Equi-Turf™ Arena Footings - multiply Sq. Ft. by 3.34 lbs (7 bags to a 10' by 10' area).
Example: Arena: 66' x 200' = 13,200 sq. ft., therefore 13,200 sq. ft. x 2.25 lbs = 29,700 lbs of Equi-Turf™ Arena Footings.
Packaging: Equi-Turf™ Arena Footing can be packaged in 2,400 lb. super sacks.
Installation Instructions:
- Equi-Turf™ Arena Footing delivered in super sacks should be dumped throughout the arena and spread evenly with a front bucket or rear blade.
- Equi-Turf™ Arena Footing delivered in 50 lb bags can be hand dumped and spread with a rake to the desired depth. (see coverage example above.)
- After the material is dumped, it can be mixed in with a spike tooth drag or naturally just from normal use.
Pricing: Pricing is based on quantity ordered and your location. Pricing includes arena footings and shipping. Obviously, more square footage drives the price down further. All prices are quoted on an individual basis and must be pre-paid prior to shipping.
Delivery: Delivery will be based on mileage and best transportation quotes obtained at the time of order. Cost for delivery will be added to the total invoice.
NOTE: Equi-Turf™ Arena Footing is commonly delivered in a semi-trailer. Be sure you can provide access for a 75 foot long, 13’6” foot high, semi-tractor and trailer. It is necessary to have a forklift or tractor with a front bucket for off loading. It is recommended arena footings be off-loaded on to a solid surface.
